On October 24,2008, the ESL students went to the Bytowne Museum in downtown Ottawa. There we learned about how the Rideau Canal was built. In the 1800's the French and the Irish immigrants built the canal. We went to the Parliament with the ESL students and we walked around the Parliament with Patrick our guide that day. We saw the House's of Commons. This is where the laws are decided. One student Cristian Herrera said" he has never been in the Parliament before ". Finally the class they had lunch in the Byward Market.
